US troops to withdraw by 2011
Friday, March 12th, 2010Stating that nine US troops were killed in the month of March, the lowest since the start of the Iraq war, the top US military commander in Iraq Gen. Ray Odierno, said that conditions have improved and the American troops will be out of Iraq by the end of 2011. Admitting that there were some incidents of violence he said that despite the loss of nine soldiers during the first two weeks of April, foreign fighters are finding it increasingly difficult to come in. He also said that the Iraqi government was capable of handling the few outfits that are capable of launching attacks.
